horror: really sans (and by extension any classic variant) would believe in climate change due to being former scientists. like what type of scientist DOESN'T believe in climate change. so horror would believe in climate change but he'd be really damn pessimistic about it (because he's an asshole!) like he genuinely wouldn't care at all. sometimes on bad days he purposely litters. on really hot/cold days as a result of climate change he'd complain and start considering bring environmentally friendly. but he never does. horror wouldn't care at all

nightmare: he's smart enough to know that climate change does exist but he purposely pretends that it isn't real to piss people off (and get those delicious delicious negative emotions :3) and he'd do it so confidently and he'd belittle you so much that either you get so pissed off and irritated at him or you start questioning yourself and if climate change actually IS real? he'd make up fake sources for climate change being fake and site the mtt as his source because they used to be scientists 💀💀

ink: this fella doesn't even know what day of the week it is do you think they would remember climate change??? absolutely not. anyways ink probably has it scrawled down on his scarf: CLIMATE CHANFE EXISTS. dream: he really really struggled with grappling with the concept that YES climate change exists. YES there is enough trash out there to kill the earth. YES there is not much he can do about it. like every moral dilemma question about climate change was asked by dream (to swap) and he's very upset about climate change prior to maturing. but after maturing he knows that he can't do much to help climate change but he is FERVENTLY environmentally friendly and tries to remind everyone around him to help the earth (without shoving it down their throats because he's nice like that). if dream had the time he would probably start a nonprofit for helping the earth. he would start a nonprofit for everything actually. modern au dream where he has several nonprofit organizations to help various causes. someone out there's gonna love this idea

I HOPE HER NEW OUTFIT LOOKS GREAT! or some dumbass fucking joke like that but this guy is even more environmentally friendly than dream. he goes to RALLIES for the environment. he would use environmentally friendly soaps and even fucking kitchen utensils. this guy is just here for saving the earth. he wants to really really believe that big corporations don't mean bad with pollution but he knows. theres no convincing himself that big corp wants to save the earth. even someone like swap who always has hope can't convince himself of that shit

Outis was sent to kill Ryoshu, a new vampire in town that has been slaughtering civilians ever single night. Outis is also a close friend crush- I mean who said that to Cecilia, a researcher on the supernatural. Oddly enough, Cecilia thought it’d be a good idea to pursue the vampire in order to get a personal study on the species. She’s- uh- kinda reckless? Haha has no regards for her own safety, wants to learn about those different from her, and finds morality absolutely hilarious. Very neutral on what’s deemed good or bad since different species believes in different morals based on survival. Anyways, Cecilia goes on a chase for the vampire and does some wacky messed up things to get Ryoshu’s attention (may or may not include her using a civilian as a hostage but that attempt failed). Eventually, Ryoshu kinda just comes to her cause she thinks Cecilia is wacky and she finds it interesting. Also wouldn’t you know, Outis was tagging along Cecilia that time because she has been acting a little differently for the past few weeks. Outis thinks that Ryoshu is going to kill Cecilia since she’s a vampire, and gets ready to shoot and I can’t think of the rest

Promptober 1: Sugar

Decided to do one of these for the first time!

Sun x Reader x Moon, 1448 words, they/them/Y/N for reader, forehead kiss is the most romantic it gets :3 enjoy!

“Yo Y/N!” One of the teens barked from across the employee lounge, despite the smallness of the space. 

“What are you hooligans up to?” They hummed, eyeing the cup they were all gathered around wearily. They didn’t know how they ended up being so popular with the young crowd- though it was probably because they were the least likely to yell at them for mistakes, and offer them rides home, and comp their food if they forgot their wallets- okay ya maybe they did know. 

“Wanna try some battery acid?” 

“What.” Kyle looked up with a wide grin, gesturing to the acidic green ooze in the cup.

“Battery acid!” 

“That clarifies nothing.” 

“Okay so-” ohhh boy “you get a monster-”

“Green apple-” 

“And a bunch of sour candy-”

“And some nerds!”

“And some nerds, and you mix it all together!” 

“... Is the point to throw up or something?” He shrugged, slipping one of the extra sour worms into his mouth.

“I dunno, I saw it on tiktok. Wanna try?”

“Are you making me the guinea pig? Who else has tried it?” None of them raised their hands. 

“... I’ll give you 20 bucks if you slam at least half of it.” Rachael piped up suddenly. The promise of a free lunch made the cup look no less rancid.

“40.” They bickered for a moment, each digging through their wallets until a pile of bills was on the table. With a sigh they poured half of it into a new cup grimacing at the chunks of gummy worms and undissolved nerds that splashed into the bottom. “Chunks too?” They all nodded. 

Swallowing their pride, and the sour pang in the back of their throat, they slammed it back. They got a few gulps before coughing, pulling away to cringe at the taste coating their mouth.

“Fucking hell-” 

“Language-” One of them teased, pointing to the daycare badge that hung around their neck.

Y/N stuck their tongue out and swallowed the rest, crunching the last few bits with a disgusted grimace. They grabbed the bills and quickly stuffed them in their pockets before running over to the sink to stick their head under. 

“That was the worst thing I’ve ever done. And I went to college.” The teens snickered, now shoving the other cup amongst themselves to goad the others into a sip. “I gotta go work now. Don’t let Gwen sniff that or she might actually keel over from a sugar rush.” They waved goodbye and half heartedly hummed affirmations, now more interested in Lilly’s cautious sniffing of the cup. 

The walk to the daycare was uneventful, though their stomach swam with quiet threats. 

“Hh…” The daycare was loud, kids running amok as the daycare attendant and the morning shift struggled to keep them contained. 

“Oh thank god-” Stacy wheezed, buckling over the desk as three kids screamed by.

“That bad huh?” 

“Tiny terrors.” She hissed, putting on a false smile as Sun squinted at her. “Todd got into the slime and started hitting kids with it, Rene is missing her blanket, and for the life of me I cannot find Freddy’s toy dog anywhere!” They nodded and glanced up towards the structures, noting a little brown paw poking out near the top of the structure.

“Ya Paula likes to chuck it up there. I’ll get it for you, you can go if you want.”

“Really?” She tried to hide the excitement in her eyes. “I mean it's a mess-”

“Eh, I can deal.” Their blood was rushing fast, glancing around at all the kids. They could keep up, it would be fine. 

“Thanks!” They hardly noticed as she grabbed her coat and high tailed it, instead focusing on Sun who was comforting one of the kids. He glanced at them with a nod as they ran up the structure, grabbing the foot of the toy before jumping back. 

“Mr. Sun!! L/N climbed on the playplace!!” Kennedy cried, nearly getting knocked over by some kids who they hoped were just playing tag. 

“Thank you Kennedy! I told them it was okay, just this once!” Sun sung, sighing in relief as they handed the dog over to the sobbing boy. 

“There there friend! See, he’s okay!” Freddy’s sobs quieted down as he held his toy tight, glaring at Paula who sat in timeout with a few other kids. 

“Why don’t you see if Roger wants to play house?” They suggested softly, pushing him towards the quieter area of the daycare. Sun huffed as soon as he was out of sight, glancing over his domain nervously. 

“You okay Sunny?” He whined and nodded, tapping his foot against the ground. 

“Naughty kids, too many little hands today. So so happy you’re here though Starshine! Sorry I didn’t get to say hello!” They shrugged, bouncing on their toes as he glanced at them with a hum.

“What?”

“You’re… bouncier than normal.” He commented, following them as they headed towards the open area in front of the desk. 

“I feel pretty good today, that’s all.” Sun nodded slowly, cut off by another scream from across the daycare. 

“Be right back!” He barked, taking off through the maze of kids and toys. Instead of settling by the desk they walked, darting around kids and checking over the areas where Sunny couldn’t be. Most of the kids were calmer as the day went on, leaving them restless and bouncy. By the time they crossed paths with Sun again all the kids were either drawing or playing with some of the calmer toys, though a few were looping around the slide.

“Sunshine?”

“Hmm?”

“You’re shaking.” They paused, glancing at their hands. They were stuffed with craft supplies, and notably trembling. 

“Oh.” 

“Are you sure you’re okay? What did you have for breakfast?”

“Just a leftover sandwich… I slept well too before Moon butts in.” Sun snorted, pulling the bucket away from them gently.

“Maybe you should go sit until nap time hmm? I’ll call if I need you.” It was clear from his body language there was no argument to be had, so they trudged back to the desk. While they were there they could at least do some paperwork. 

None of it held their attention for long enough, soon there were half filled out forms and scratched up lists littering the desk. They snapped up as the lights dimmed, startled Sun hadn’t called them to help the kids.

“Shh…” Someone pushed them back down into the chair, Moon’s hands rubbing little circles into their shoulders. “Relax.”

“Don’t you want help with the kids?”

“I want you to rest, starlight.” He hummed, placing a water bottle from god knows where on the desk. “I’ll be back in a few.” The lack of light soothed their pulsing temples, aided by some pain meds someone had stashed in the locked cabinet. They could hear Moon’s voice across the way, soothing the kids to sleep with one of the many princess story books. Their stomach growled as they glanced at the clock- almost time for lunch. The door creaked open as Rachael snuck in, eyeing the scene as they made it to the desk. 

“Hey, here to relieve you. I’m sure you’re probably feeling sick by now.” She whispered, squinting into the darkness to find a familiar set of red eyes. 

“Thanks.” 

“Now why,” Moon started, snorting as she yelped away from where he had snuck up “would starlight be feeling sick hmmm?”

“Uhh-”

“Moon, play nice.” Most of the staff was weary of him, but the teens were usually the least jumpy. They were more likely to tease him in all honesty.

“Hmm.” He mulled over the idea, tapping his faceplate as he squinted at her.

“I um, I may have made them drink battery acid?”

“You didn’t make me-” they ignored the way Moon jerked, waving his concerns away. “It’s just some energy drink thing they were making-”

“I did bribe you into it though-”

“Well I said yes-”

“Still, I’m sorry Y/N. I’m sorry Moon.” Moon squinted as she shuffled, eyes down. Y/N not to subtly gestured to her, raising their eyebrows as the night attendant shifted.

“... Apology accepted.” He grumbled, clearly not too into it. She smiled anyways, taking over their chair as Moon walked them to the door. 

“I’ll come back and eat with you if you’d like.” They offered, noting the way he hovered close.

“... Please.” He mumbled, knocking his faceplate into their shoulder. “And then you rest. You’re gonna crash.” They hummed and toyed with the end of his hat, swaying as he looped his arms around their waist. 

“Okay.” They pressed their lips to his forehead before backing away, glancing at the desk where Rachael was clearly trying not to oogle. “Be nice for me, nightlight.” His face rotated as he clung to the door, covering his face with his hat.

8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

It is kind of a hard question, because opinions are opinions! They are not supposed to be right OR wrong! I suppose that some of them do fall on the territory of lacking perspective, and in that case I'd say insisting on how Yharnam is Victorian London! To be honest, again, everything in Bloodborne is off-brand and Yharnam has several inspirations, but like... there is the Czech clocktower, there is off-brand Nikola Tesla with his inventions, names like Micolash an Iosefka, and there is Polish language on the graves in Hemwick!

Yharnam is as Slavic as you can get come on fdsjdffds

21) part of canon you think is overhyped

Hard to tell, sometimes it feels like almost nothing in the fandom gets enough attention on the contrary! I am not sure if this is just the small fandom problem, or the problem of the source material being too good, but no matter what aesthetic, lore piece or character dynamic got a lot of attention it ALL feels deserved! I used to think that maybe Choir was getting "too much" attention and eclipsed the rest of the covenants in fanart, but again, 1) they ARE interesting and appealing enough and 2) the sense of one hyped thing 'robbing the spotlight' from another is usually a mistake, people are naturally drawn to what they like and if it didn't exist it is not like all that attention would 'instead' go to more neglected bits! In other words, everything in Bloodborne deserves its attention AND more!

25) common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing

Kinda tired of the complaints about how Maria and sometimes other female characters are drawn! Not because they are not true, but because they never will REACH their target audience! People that draw Maria with big hips and tiddies and no hint of strength simply do not GO on the websites like Tumblr or Twitter! I don't really see the reason of recycling this complaint specifically in the spaces where people that do draw female characters like this will not even receive this feedback. I can't be 100% free from hypocrisy on this one though because I also sometimes vagueblog rather than addressing what I disagree with directly (in my defence though usually it happens because I physically can't message the person fdhhfds).

But basically, it feels like people have trapped themselves with the whole "never offer unsolicited criticism" mentality and thus can't post criticism UNDER those inaccurate fanarts. The 'treat others like you want to be treated' can and WILL be a bitch, so we're left with frantic posts about how this or that character should be drawn, in the place where everyone already draws this character accurately, so it gets jarring! I am an asshole that will go in people's DMs about drawings to tell them that Henryk's skin is not so pale, that Damian/Yurie/Henriett/etc have grey eyes and not blue and that Malenia is NOT built like Barbie doll so maybe this is why I do not understand the point?

These are my drawings for days 3-5 of @ultrainfinitepit's Angeltober!

Day 3: Honey

This one went through the most changes from sketch to finished product; I ended up going with a medieval-beekeeper inspired thing with a huge eye instead of the basket face. I didn't have much time for this one, so it's quite rough even in its final form, but part of my goal for this challenge is to get more comfortable posting "unfinished" or "bad" art. Even if the drawing isn't great I'm gonna post one for every day (though maybe several days late...)

Day 4: Sacred Heart

I had a lot of fun with this one! I knew pretty much from the beginning what I wanted to draw--this is my OC Mariana, who I could write a whole essay on and probably will someday. The original sketch was in fountain pen, which was fun to work with since I couldn't erase anything; I'll probably use it for rough sketches again since the messiness is a good way to get ideas down.

Day 5: Horn

This is another one that didn't change much from the first concept, though it took me a while to get there--at first i had NO idea what to do, until I thought to work with some other interpretations of "horn". I'd have liked to spend more time on the final product for this one; maybe I'll revisit it someday!

Idk if my previous posts were unclear but I don't remotely hate any Optimus version that isn't IDW or think they suck. Every Optimus is good and there's a fan (or multiple fans!) of every version of OP no matter how obscure or underrated (as well as all the other characters).

What's more questionable (or at least annoying) is when fandom ignores canon character personalities in favor of writing specific archetypes that are either out of character or repetitive/stereotyped to the point of annoyance. As an example of this, it would be a female character being called the Team Mom just because she's a woman existing in a group of (primarily male) characters even if she's not remotely motherly or nurturing. Or, as a more topical example, how often I've seen Transformers ships where even though both characters are canonically masculine (or gender neutral), fanartists love to turn one of the characters small and weak (or even outright feminine) to turn the ship into Strong Dominant Seme and Sweet Cute Uke to fit a specific kink or romantic fantasy, even if it's a disservice/OOC to portray those characters like that.

In other words, a fandom's popularity of certain characters, ships, headcanons, etc is often more informed by tropes and forcing canon to adhere to one's personal tastes, as opposed to approaching canon and trying to understand it on its own terms. I'm not talking about the quality of the source material, but rather the way that the fandom interprets the source materials in ways that don't make any sense, approach it in bad faith, or just generally don't care about canon at all. So I'm not saying one OP is better than another, my problem is when fandom consistently focuses on certain stereotypes or flanderizations of a character, and then any character that doesn't fit the popular (often stereotyped) mold is ignored or virulently rejected. In other words, I think popular fandom often does a DISSERVICE to characters whether they love them or hate them, it just takes different forms.

So, just as an example, I think one fandom caricature of Optimus that I see a lot (and heavily dislike) is making Optimus some sort of shrinking wallflower type who's innocent, sweet, and virginal, in contrast to an opposite caricature of Megatron that's big, strong, dominant, and rugged, and making ship art that forces the characters into some kind of seme/uke or borderline heteronormative romance. Despite the fact that canon Optimus (in, say, TFP for example) is tall, broadly built, deep voiced, dignified, assertive, and strong (physically and morally), completely incorrect interpretations of him as a shy feminized uke type are still pretty common to find. And it makes you ask yourself why it is so many people make MOP ship art of them of The Small One and The Large One or The Small, Cute One and The Big, Violent One when it's completely different from canon. It feels as if such fanart is made by people who just want to see seme/uke style slash ships, and if canon doesn't give them what they want, they'll simply trash it and replace it with their own version, even if it's completely OOC.

So when I said in my other post that people don't like IDW Optimus because he can't be fit into caricatures like happy dad or shy twink, I'm not saying it to say "other OPs who resemble that suck," I'm saying it to express "Fandom tends to simplify characters into easily palatable and comfortable tropes, and when they encounter a character they can't do that with, they respond by ignoring or even hating on that character."

Other versions of Optimus have the problem where fandom turns them into a stereotype instead of the actual character they are, e.g. portraying TFA OP as some poor abused damsel with no self confidence and crippling anxiety being abused by his superiors, and then they talk more about this fake uwu smoll bean cinnamon roll version of TFA OP than they do about actual canon TFA OP. And honestly I can't think of any prominent content/meta about G1 OP that isn't just "he plays basketball and does funny one liners and is Team Dad/Grandpa." (Hell, you even get that with non-Optimus characters that get simplified to just sexy twink, old grandpa, comedy relief, evil ex, Diversity Win-- She's A Lesbian, third wheel to the favored ship, etc even though there's way more depth to them than just their surface level stereotype.)

IDW OP's problem is that he can't be stereotyped like that so instead the fandom ignores him. He's not small, so they can't stereotype him as a skinny twink getting topped by a burly uke. He's not jovial or happy go lucky or extroverted, so they can't stereotype him as Team Dad or Comedy Relief. He's assertive, blunt, and has a temper, so they can't stereotype him as a shy wallflower in need of protecting. He makes catastrophic mistakes and is responsible for bad things happening, so they can't stereotype him into a sweet cinnamon roll who has never done anything wrong in his whole life or The Infinitely Wise and Kind Paragon. There's no Big Bad Authority Figure who was mean to IDW OP and traumatized him, so they can't excuse the bad things he did as "he's traumatized so he couldn't help it" and wave away his flaws as "it's his abuser's fault, they made him this way." IDW OP has the kind of depression where he's grumpy, shut off, and angry-- as opposed to the shy, sad kind of depression that just stares forlornly out of the window in a beautifully tragic way-- so they can't make him into a sad woobie kicked around unfairly by life.

Or I guess they just stereotype IDW OP as "evil bastard with no redeeming qualities that's mean to everyone for no reason, plus the writers forced everyone to like him just because he's Optimus Prime" even though that isn't accurate either.

Put bluntly, IDW OP forces fandom to contend with the idea that someone can be a good person with good intentions but still fuck up on a massive scale and maybe end up hurting more than they helped. IDW OP is messy, ugly, flawed, mean, stoic, closed off. When IDW OP has mental breakdowns or has his feelings hurt, he's loud and angry and harsh, and the consequences of what he did while he was unwell continue to haunt him long after. In other words, he actually experiences negative emotions the way a real person would, and sometimes when he's under the influence of negative emotions, he lashes out or does stupid things (like a real person might) instead of inoffensively crying in a corner somewhere. He isn't sanitized enough for a fandom that only wants Perfect Pure Good Optimus Who Never Hurts Anyone Even By Accident, so instead of IDW OP's mistakes and dark moments being treated as the logical end point of a person put in constant no-win situations until he breaks, he gets treated as if his mistakes and flaws make him an irredeemable bastard with no good qualities who should've fucked up less often to make fans actually like him.

And this is all in a fandom where 90% of the characters are war criminals and a good half of them have massacred organic planets. But god forbid IDW Optimus ever make a bad decision in a stressful situation. Or be mean to someone. Or have a character arc about how blindly idolizing people as paragons ends badly for everyone involved because no one can be that perfect. He is simply The Worst Optimus Ever and there's absolutely nothing about him worth discussing.

And just to be clear, the problem isn't the fact that some people don't like IDW OP, or he's just not their thing and they don't care.

The problem is the fact that he's consistently and actively hated by the fanbase who makes a concentrated effort to say he sucks and make sure none of their fan works ever include him. It's literally at a level where I stopped looking in the Optimus tag on this website because I was tired of people randomly going "and btw IDW OP sucks and I want to drown him in a ditch" in posts that weren't even about IDW, and I stopped looking for MegOP fic on AO3 because most of it is IDW Megatron/clearly TFP or G1 inspired continuity soup Optimus. Places that are Optimus friendly for Optimus fans, where I could reasonably expect to find positive conversations, but instead get sucker punched by hate about the character The Space Is About. And I can't even have conversations asking about why they do, bc the way 90% of them talk, I can tell they literally just didn't read the comics or deliberately misinterpreted the story.

I find it bizarre and frankly, tragic, that the hate train for IDW OP is so pervasive that people actively erase and replace him from fan works IN THE IDW UNIVERSE in a way that no other character is targeted in. I have tried so hard to understand why IDW OP gets this sort of hate and erasure when other characters who were as bad or worse than him have perfectly normal takes about them that go "yeah he kinda sucks but he's cool and I like him" or "who cares if he's problematic IRL, it's a story." The only conclusion I can come to is that because Optimus Prime (TM) has a specific brand image and is locked into being a cultural icon, he's held to a standard of The Ideal Perfect Hero instead of the way better standard of "Is he an interesting, well written character?"

Awww no well it's not OVER over, as in I still really like them and will retain everything I learned about them during the last 3 or 4 months and still follow a lil handful of my fave Beatles blogs on here. It's just over as in I don't feel the need to fill my dash with literally hundreds of Beatles blogs or finish reading every giant biographer's tome I started reading about them anymore or wtv. And obvs you can always chat to me about them and still see me occasionally post about them! But thank you for saying so anyways haha

also, about carmillas control of her vampirism, while it's hot to think about, i dont think fangs actually come out during sex. like in the s3 scenes where shes actually still a vampire that we dont get to see but i dont think that happens

based on my inferences that the losing control of the vampirism happens mostly bc of anger/threat and it basically never happens atlaura and i think one of her worst fears is hurting laura, i think during sex is the least likely time for any loss of control like that

+ theres the fact that laura is the bitey one during sex, even with human teeth
